When people hear the word “urban poverty” they hear poverty and think poor working individuals. They are not respected in society and not treated with much respect. Poor women, who live in mixed income neighborhoods, have a better advantage of acting like the rest of the neighborhood. People do not have to know how much money you make and that you are poor, all they know is that you are living amongst all other incomes. However, poor working women who live in urban poverty neighborhoods can not hide where they live or even try to defend themselves. Poor women living in these neighborhoods become part of the statistic and find it harder finding jobs that pay enough to support their family.
The women on the video found working minimum very disturbing. She has four children and finds it very hard to live each day with a happy face. She tells her children each day that they need to get a good education in order to maintain a good life. The neighborhood she lives in is very dangerous for the children to even go outside to play. She has a decent job but does not get paid what she deserves.
